"Twigseeds"
is a creative illustration and storytelling studio featuring the
artwork
of Kate Knapp. The Twigseeds nest has hatched a flock of feathered
and and furry philosophers who inspire us
to consider our world.
Kate creates whimsical artworks in vibrant and lustrous colours
that bring her enchanting subjects joyously to life. Her unique
style depicts scenes of delicate and dainty creatures, luminous
flowers and plants. Combined with words from philosophers and poets
these artworks reflect her love for animals and our beautiful planet.
|
Her main inspiration
and muse was her beloved dog, Saffy, who sadly passed away in 2008.
Saffy taught Kate about the importance of our connection with animals
and our environment.
Kate studied Graphic Design at the Queensland College of Art then
opened her shop and gallery in 1998 selling a range of her original
artworks. This led her to develop Twigseeds as home to the growing
family of personalities she's created. A couple of which are Ruby
Red Shoes, an aware Hare and Saffy the dog.

Kate divides
her time between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast hinterland in Queensland.
The name Twigseeds represents our belief in the value of small things
in the world. Little twigs, when woven together, have unity and
strength. Seeds are the carriers of information as well as houses
of potential and possibility. The logo has a winged friend carrying
a peaceful branch.
